Certifications

Converde CertificationConverde products, meeting the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) Organic Inputs Registry Requirements, are certified organic by Americert, a third party verification and certification agency, accredited by the USDA National Organic Program.

Organic Certification addresses a growing worldwide demand for organic food. It is intended to assure quality and prevent fraud, and to promote commerce. While such certification was not necessary in the early days of the organic movement, when small farmers would sell their produce directly at farmers' markets, as organics have grown in popularity, more and more consumers are purchasing organic food through traditional channels. As such, consumers must rely on third-party regulatory certification.

This Organic Certification came after months of a comprehensive review of the Converde's operation's policies, procedures, and practices. The USDA determined that we demonstrated that our products comply with the United States Department of Agriculture National Organic Program Final Rule, the Organic Foods Production Act of the 1990, and qualifies to represent its products as allowed for use in organic production.

The USDA spent two days at the Converde's plant and did extensive testing and validation of all policies, procedures and quality controls at every level of the production process (raw materials, goods in process, and finished goods). Additionally the USDA worked with Accurate Environmental laboratories in Stillwater, Oklahoma and Murray-Brown laboratories in Denver, Colorado testing samples of products from each of the Company's productions runs.

For organic producers, certification identifies suppliers of products approved for use in certified operations. Certification is essentially aimed at regulating and facilitating the sale of organic products.
